Students, Alumni, Fans of March Madness:
What is Green Madness?
Green Madness is a new game designed to make it fun to save the Earth.
From March 20-April 22, 2011, we conducted our inaugural tournament. For fun and kicks, our 32 teams represented each of the college basketball winners since 1980.
Team members scored points from a list of Green Actions: Activities they committed to performing. These ranged from unplugging their computers for a day, or filling up their toilet tanks with a soda bottle filled with rocks. Once each team's members chose their actions, they took their green pledges, and promised to complete them. When they did, they scored points for their team.
Each week, teams got elimiated until only one remained:
That proud winner? UCLA
What's effective-and what's not
How to find new opportunities to be green
How each one of us can make a difference
Green Actions are simple tasks that every citizen should be doing to help save the planet: Please look at our list of over 40 Green Actions.
